Fourth of July Bean Casserole
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb sliced bacon, diced
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 (28 oz.) can pork and beans
- 1 (17 oz.) can lima beans, rinsed and drained
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbls. prepared mustard
- 2 tbls. molasses
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
Directions
Heat oven to 350°. In a large skillet, cook bacon, beef and onion until meat is browned and onion is tender; drain. Transfer to a greased 2½-quart baking dish; add all beans and mix well. In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients; stir into beef and bean mixture. Cover and bake for 45 minutes. Uncover; bake 15 minutes longer. Yields 12 servings.
